The Solid Grounds Coffee Company
by Carla Laureano

It's always a little sad for a good series to come to an end, and that's where Carla Laureano fans find themselves with The Solid Grounds Coffee Company. The good news is it is a lovely conclusion to the Supper Club series.

I've enjoyed all three books and liked all of the characters. Of the three females, Ana seemed the coldest, but I always liked her. A workaholic, she focused so much on career and status that she was missing what was most important. As for the males in this series, Bryan Shaw is the tops. His character had such depth and growth, and it was delightful to see his transformation from playboy to a solid, living for Jesus man.

I identified with both Ana and Bryan. I've certainly made some poor choices in my life as Bryan did, and I've always tended to be focused on career at the risk of sacrificing things that were important in my personal life as Ana did. Bryan exemplified what a Christian, who really gets it, is all about. One of the most memorable things in the book is when he tells Alex he called himself a Christian, but his life certainly didn't show it. Needless to say, I loved Bryan Shaw.

The romance between Bryan and Ana was a slow build, but I liked that. So often, the people are instantly in love and ready to spend their lives together. Their romance moved at just the right pace.

If you've read the two previous books, you'll see Rachel and Alex finally get married, and you'll see Melody's and Justin's romance become more serious. You'll also learn a whole lot about coffee and roasting coffee. I've liked the side stories immensely and have learned a lot about cooking, baking, and now coffee. What fun it has been.

In this book and the others, I see the theme of living your faith, focusing on what really matters, and accepting the redemption we've all been offered through Jesus.

I hate to say goodbye to these wonderful characters. I quite enjoyed this final installment, and give it five stars.

Have you read all the books in the series? Which one is your favorite? Are you a coffee drinker? What is your favorite coffee?
