Stay With Me
by Becky Wade
Great books speak to you at an emotional level. They seem great because they touch your heart, and Stay With Me is that kind of book.
Becky Wade's latest, and the start of a new series, is simply beautiful. It's a love story between a man and a woman, and between Jesus and people.
Genevieve Woodward is a Bible Study author who seems to have it all together. She works tirelessly to maintain her image. Like so many Christians, she wants people to think her life is perfect, but in reality she's hiding a very imperfect secret. Sam Turner, is a sexy Aussie, who has survived a heart-wrenching tragedy and come out a better man for it. He learned Jesus meets you right where you are, even in the middle of your biggest mess.
There are many laugh out loud moments, a few make you cry moments, and a little mystery that has to do with Genevieve's parents. The romance between Sam and Genevieve develops slowly, and sweetly. Their story is realistic and quite beautiful. I thought they were strong, well-developed, and likable.
I'm a fan of Becky Wade and think this book is going to be one that many will say is her best yet. I want to say it, but I love True to You and My Stubborn Heart, so I must put it in a three-way tie. What I can say is I cried at the end because I thought the story was so very good. It's been a month since I read it, and I still think about it. For me, it's a five-star, read again novel.
